Help Needed
To provide children with an excellent holiday, we need great helpers!
There are many areas on camp where people like you can help, just let us know what your skills and interests are and we will find a place for you! You have to be a committed Christian and 17 or over, but there is no upper age limit and we encourage people with a variety of experiences to get involved.
The two main jobs on camp are either, working with the young people as a tent leader or helping with the catering as part of an experienced team. You may also be asked to help with a variety of tasks like maintenance, craft, security, cleaning, worship leading, helping young people with the Bible, sewing, administration, leading sports and games, life guarding, first aid, generally being there for the young people and of course packing up afterwards.
Leaders can come for one, two, three weeks. It is also possible to spend a week helping on each camp, or come along for a few days to do specific jobs where appropriateĀ to the camp programme.
Being a leader or a helper is more than just a summer pastime, it is a real opportunity to serve God and to get involved in the young people’s lives in a positive and transforming way.
Leaders are given full training both on camp and on our dedicated training weekend. There are also opportunities throughout the year to meet up with other leaders for fellowship, fun and prayer and to feedback about your experiences of camp!
Need more convincing? Being a leader or helper on either camp could count towards Duke of Edinburgh awards, University placements, leadership experience and more! It is also the most fun you can ever have when working in a field!
Quotes from leaders… “it was amazing to spend time with the kids and get to know them and see them grow in their faith!” Helena, Week C.
